  • University Research Awards Program  - The Univeristy Research Awards Program awards three Outstanding University Researcher Awards ($3,000 each) and seven Research Initiative Awards ($500 each). The nomination and application deadline for both types of awards is typically early- to mid-October.
  • COB Outstanding Researcher Award Program - The COB Outstanding Researcher Award Program annually grants an award of $1,000. The nomination and application deadline is typically mid-November.
  • Travel support - Travel support is often available to defray the cost of attending professional conferences. The level of support varies from department to department.


  • Computer Help Desk - Call the Computer Help Desk at 309-438-HELP (4357).
  • Computers and printers - Available in all faculty offices.
  • Research-related software - This includes SPSS, SAS, JMP Pro and COMPUSTAT Research Insights, available to all COB faculty through the College's computer network.
  • Access to a suite of commonly used Internet applications - This includes basic applications such as email, Web access, mainframe connection, etc. from home, using the ISU Networking System.
  • State of the art instructional technology - Available in all classrooms.
  • Technological resources - This includes multimedia projectors, laptop computers, digital cameras, smart classrooms, and distance learning classroom capabilities.
  • Faculty Resource Center (COB 25) - The Faculty Resource Center uses advanced equipment - such as an offset press, high speed copiers, a color printer, etc. - to offer a variety of professional-quality services, including word processing, desktop publishing, document scanning, reprographics, and document production. This equipment if available for the production of color brochures, flyers, or booklets.


  • Milner Library - Extensive library resources, including 80,000 volumes in business and economics, over 800 business periodicals, 12 major indexes to periodicals, over 150 reference titles, extensive holdings of government documents, and on-line searches of approximately 50 databases in business and economics.
  • ILLINET Online - ILLINET Online serves as the online catalog for Milner Library and also provides information about materials available at 44 other academic and research libraries in the state.
