To Prepare to The Event

  • Have someone look over your resume. ISU Career Services is happy to help with your resume and provides free printing for you can bring copies to the fair. For more info check out this career services page.
  • Consider preparing for the event and future interviews by doing mock interviews. You can use the Interviewstream to practice your interview skills.
  • Look at the employers planning to attend the event to plan which companies you want to talk to and research them. Look at employers’ profiles on Handshake to learn more about them and potentially find job postings (if they use Handshake for job postings)
  • For the latest list of participants and for detailed information, check out this page. In addition to this career fair, Handshake has many other exciting opportunities to network with companies through sponsored events that may interest you. Check out the Events tab on Handshake for these opportunities after you have created a Handshake account.

Employer Information

Finance, Insurance, and Actuarial Science Meet the Firms

Company representatives will have the opportunity to interact with students who are interested in pursuing careers in all areas of finance, financial planning, risk management and insurance, and actuarial science. The event is free for companies to attend.

  • The Finance major at Illinois State University emphasizes effective teaching and student involvement in the educational process, with special attention to the concept of linking theory with financial practice. The CFP Board Registered Financial Planning minor at ISU gives students the skills to help individuals and families navigate the complex landscape of personal finance.
  • The Risk Management and Insurance (RMI) major at Illinois State University is a premier, internationally renowned program that prepares students for a number of careers in the risk and insurance industry. The Actuarial Science Program at Illinois State University has the highest level of recognition from the Society of Actuaries (as a Center of Actuarial Excellence with University Earned Credit) and from the Casualty Actuarial Society (Gold Level in the Casualty Actuarial Society University Recognition System).   • Katie School of Insurance and Risk Management is a Center for RMI with a mission to prepare future leaders in RMI and actuarial science by supporting strong industry involvement with students, innovative teaching by outstanding faculty, cutting-edge academic and applied research, and a student-centered learning environment. Katie School is recognized as a Global Center of Insurance Excellence by the International Insurance Society.
