The College of Business at Illinois State University, or as we like to call it “the COB”, has wonderful resources and opportunities to engage students. From over a dozen major/minor choices to almost 30 registered student organizations; local, national, and international internship opportunities; and multiple study abroad opportunities, you can find your place in the COB.

    Advising

    College of Business Academic Advisement is an essential part of the educational process. Our advisors are professionals who provide resources, guidance, and support to undergraduate students.

      Business Week offers engaging, authentic, and professional opportunities that enable students to interact closely with alumni, employers, and industry thought leaders as they develop essential soft skills and understandings required for success.

      Business Bird Ready

      Business Bird Ready is a badging program designed to ensure our students have the valued competencies and marketable skills needed for a successful career, by allowing students to participate in a variety of experiential learning activities throughout their time as a College of Business student.

Getting involved with an RSO provides hands-on experience that may prepare you for future internships, jobs, and volunteer work. With over 20 registered student organizations within the College of Business, you're sure to find one that meets your interests.

    Scholarships

    The College of Business offers multiple highly competitive scholarships and awards to incoming first-year, transfer, and continuing students with exceptional academic talent, outstanding leadership skills, and/or financial need.

    The Pay it Forward Student Funds is centered around “students helping students.” The fund is sponsored and funded by Ron Whitton of Dentsmart and through donations from students, faculty, and staff within the College of Business.

    Students in the COB can find many opportunities for participation in the College. Events range from the social to the academic and include career fairs, and informational learning sessions.

College of Business on the Social Media

College of Business Marketing and Social Media Team maintains a variety of social media platforms on behalf of the University, creating and sharing content that is relevant and engaging for prospective and current students, parents, friends, alumni, and faculty and staff. This is done by a team that involves student Social Media Interns (SMI) and staff on various BusinessISU social media platforms.
