Through our curriculum, students will learn about the breadth of areas that fall under the IMC umbrella with a critical focus on stategically integrating all marketing messages while never losing sight of the target market. To do this, students will need to understand the importance of market research, market planning, implementation, and follow-up, in addition to the continuous focus on consistent brand messaging. Additionally, throughout their courses, faculty will facilitate training and recommend various certificates through orgranizations such as Adobe, Google, HubSport, Salesforce and more. These trainings will help students to hone specific skills and differentiate themselves on the job market.
Being Successful in the Field
As a marketing major, it is strongly recommended that you take MKT 190 (introduction to Marketing) in your sophomore year and declare the IMC sequence before your Junior year to maximize various opportunities, including internships and getting involved with extra-curricular activities and events.
Related Fields
With the broad umbrella of IMC, there are many areas of marketing to apply your skills and make a difference. In addition to focusing on the brand messaging in IMC, students can choose career paths that hone their skills in specific areas of IMC, including paid search, social media marketing, email marketing and much more. Since all organizations require brand management to some degree, the skill you develop through this curriculum will have universal appeal across countless industries.
