College of Business Hall of Fame 2003 - 2004 Alumni Hall of Fame Inductees
The College of Business honored the first inductees into its Alumni Hall of Fame in 2002. Each year the College will name a small number of alumni to the Hall of Fame from nominations submitted by alumni, friends, faculty, and staff. Alumni are recognized for significant career accomplishment and outstanding service to others. A committee of faculty and staff assembled by the dean chooses the honorees from those nominated. The inductees are honored on a permanent plaque in the College of Business.
Brian Bruce
Brian Bruce, of Elgin, with a degree in business administration in 1977, is director of global investments for PanAgora Asset Management in Boston. He has written or edited eight books and written more than 25 articles on investing.
He is editor-in-chief of Journal of Investing and on the boards of other financial journals. He has taught numerous courses at universities including Brandeis, Southern Methodist, and Baylor, and he is vice president of the Association of Student Managed Portfolios. He has been a columnist for Texas Business and he is frequently interviewed by NBC, ABC, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Financial Times, Business Week, Bloomberg, and others.
Richard Manahan
Richard Manahan, of Johnson City, Tennessee, with College of Business degrees in business education and business administration in 1965, and another Illinois State degree in educational administration, is vice president for University Advancement/executive vice president of the foundation at East Tennessee State University.
The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) has acknowledged Manahan's national reputation in the professional field of Advancement with a series of prestigious awards, including the District III 2002 Grand Award for Total Education Fund-Raising Programs for The Campaign for ETSU Tomorrow, which reached its $100 million goal.
Sally Bulkley Pancrazio
Sally Bulkley Pancrazio, of Bloomington, with a degree in business education in 1960, has been dean emerita of the Illinois State University College of Education since 2001, after heading the college for eight years. Pancrazio held influential positions in the state department of education as well as at Illinois State University.
From 1972-1990, she was with the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction and then with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) in Springfield, serving as acting executive deputy superintendent and chief of research and evaluation for the ISBE. In 1990 she returned to her alma mater to chair the Department of Educational Administration and Foundations, and soon was named dean. The College of Education grew substantially under her leadership.
Tom Reedy
Tom Reedy, of Hinsdale, with a degree in accounting in 1981, is president and CEO of iTRACS Corporation in Westchester, a leading provider of network infrastructure management solutions for businesses and service providers. Before joining iTRACS, Reedy had a career in investment banking, most recently as managing director of Chicago capital markets for First Union Securities, Inc., one of the largest brokerage firms in the country.
In 1999, President Bill Clinton appointed Reedy to serve a six-year term on the Board of Trustees of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, part of the Smithsonian Institute. Reedy also serves on other boards of charitable and corporate organizations.
James Tyree
James Tyree, of Chicago, with a degree in finance and an M.B.A. in 1978, is chairman and CEO of Mesirow Financial in Chicago, a diversified financial services firm with more than 700 employees in 12 offices across the country. Tyree is chairman of the Board of the City Colleges of Chicago. He also serves the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International as a life member of its Board of Directors, a member of the executive committee, and chair of program development. He has served on more than 35 boards of directors in business, and also is on educational boards, including the Board of Illinois State University Foundation.
