Michael P. Emmert ‘75

Prepared for the rigors of the corporate world thanks to four years of ISU Rugby and his accounting degree, Mike Emmert began his career as an auditor and system design consultant for Arthur Andersen & Co. In the early 1980’s he formed a litigation consulting company and success has continued to follow.

Emmert has led complex consulting engagements for Fortune 100 companies including General Electric, Citibank, AIG, Caterpillar, Exelon, and Allstate. He provides accounting, finance and other areas of expertise to corporations and corporate law firms in the resolution of litigation, other business disputes or regulatory investigations. Mike has presented expert testimony in Federal and State courts. In addition to being involved in several of the large financial statement investigations of the last 5 years, Hurricane Katrina losses and other news-related matters, Mike has led multi-year client engagements involving hundreds of professionals and the resolution of financial claims and losses totaling tens of billions of dollars. Most recently, his client responsibilities have included the evaluation of billions of dollars of property damage and other business losses suffered in New York City as a result of the events of September 11, 2001.

Mike was the Managing Partner of Ernst & Young LLP’s Global Disputes & Investigations Practice. In five years he grew the firm’s domestic practice from $15 million to $130 million, while tripling partnership profitability. Emmert achieved these results by implementing unique marketing programs, branding campaigns, thought-leadership initiatives, integrated culture enhancements, career management and staff enrichment. Throughout this period the practice was named the Ernst & Young LLP Consulting Practice of the Year. Mike also led the expansion of similar consulting practices at the global level for the company.

Mike lives in Hinsdale with his wife, Jan. Their son Phil resides in Nashville. Mike is a member of the AICPA, the ISCPA, the Vanderbilt University Masters in Accountancy Advisory Board, and the Information Integrity Coalition, among other professional and civic organizations. He also serves as a Trustee and is the Treasurer of the Chicago Zoological Society.

Bill England ‘77

Bill England is the U.S. Markets Leader for Assurance for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP. In this role, he is responsible for our Assurance services to all clients served by our industry practices. Additionally, Bill has direct oversight responsibilities for our Consumer and Industrial Products and Services practice.

For more than 29 years Bill has enjoyed serving multinational companies, both domestic and foreign based. He has been the lead engagement partner on Sara Lee Corporation, Kraft Foods, Keebler Company, and Fortune Brands and has significant SEC experience, advising clients on numerous large acquisitions and divestitures.

Bill has held a series of increasing management roles in the Firm. He assumed the Consumer and Industrial Products and Services Industry leadership responsibilities for the Midwest Region in 2000 and in 2001 he was appointed the U.S. Leader. Bill also serves as a Client Service Vice Chairman representing the Firm’s Management Committee on a number of important clients.

In addition to his degree in accountancy from Illinois State University, Bill earned an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the March of Dimes.

Bill is married to Nancy, and has two daughters, Lauryn and Katie. They reside in Burr Ridge, Illinois.

Kiyofumi Katsuki ‘81 BUA

Kiyofumi (K) Katsuki ‘s desire to master English led him from Fukuoka, a southern island of Japan, all the way to Illinois State University. Although he selected ISU because of its strong business program, K also hoped the low number of Japanese students would force him to improve his English skills more quickly. Clearly his plan succeeded. Upon graduation K took a position with Wilson Sporting Goods. For three years he worked primarily in marketing roles before returning to Japan to help establish a wholly- owned Japanese subsidiary for Wilson. Over the next eight years, Katsuki experienced a broad range of operational responsibilities at the company. Under his leadership, Wilson Japan’s revenues grew about 8.5 times during that period.

Following an offer from his former boss at Wilson USA, Katsuki left his post as Managing Director of Wilson Japan in 1993 to become the Japan Office Representative of Iams Pet Food International, Inc. Within two years K was appointed president of Iams Japan. Under K’s leadership Iams Japan has consistently turned in double-digit growth every year since 1993 and currently has 100 employees and about $ 120 million in revenue.

In 1999 Iams was acquired by Proctor & Gamble. Katsuki was named general manager of P&G North East Asia Pet Care and appointed a leadership team member of the Board of Proctor & Gamble, Japan. In 2004, Katsuki and Iams Japan, Inc. received the Sustainable Growth Award from the president of Proctor & Gamble.

K and his wife Rumiko are the parents of a 21-year-old son who is majoring in international business. They also have an 18-year-old daughter who is studying broadcasting. A golf-lover, K would love to play every weekend, but only manages to squeeze in one round a month.

Tony J. Sorcic ’75, M.B.A. ‘76

Tony Sorcic is synonymous with hometown banking in north central Illinois. He has held his current position since 1995. During his 26-years at the bank it has grown to over one billion in assets and is one of the largest agri-business credit banks in the State of Illinois. Princeton National Bancorp, Inc. is a publicly-traded company listed on the NASDAQ Stock Market Exchange and is also a member of the Russell 3000 and America's Community Bank Indices. Under Sorcic’s guidance, Citizens First national Bank has grown from 3 to 21 locations and has become a regional employer of choice.

Thanks to the strategic direction and management Tony provides for the bank and holding company, the range of services provided by the network of offices has steadily expanded to meet the evolving needs of Citizen’s customers. In particular, Sorcic and Citizens have responded to the agricultural community to help such clients navigate complex government programs and access professional farm management expertise.

Tony has made community service a top priority throughout his career. He believes good corporate citizenship requires the support of local organizations that make a difference in the lives of residents. As a result of his example and encouragement, Sorcic’s staff typically provides over 12,000 hours of volunteer service annually. Tony has been a Rotary member for almost 30 years, and served on numerous regional and civic committees and boards, including the College of Business Advisory Council.

Tony's wife Donna graduated from Illinois State with a degree in Elementary Education in '74. They have two sons, Chris who graduated in 2002 University of Illinois, and Mike who earned his degree in Business Administration from Illinois State in 2004.
