Biography
Dr. Bakir joined the Department of Marketing in August 2002. Dr. Bakir's research interests include consumer socialization of children with particular interest on advertising, gender roles, and cross-cultural consumer behavior. Her research has appeared in the Journal of Advertising, Journal of Advertising Research, Journal of Business Research, International Journal of Market Research, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Journal of Current Issues and Research in Advertising, Journal of Consumer Marketing, Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice, Journal of Consumer Behaviour, Journal of International Consumer Marketing, and other journals and national and international conference proceedings. She also has published book chapters in the Consumer Social Values, The Routledge Companion to Consumer Behavior, Handbook of Intercultural Relations and New Directions in Cross Cultural Psychology.
Dr. Bakir also developed a faculty-led study abroad program titled “Business and Cultural Experiences in Peru and Panama” and took group of students to Peru and Panama.
