Student Leadership Advisory Board
The Student Leaders Advisory Board (SLAB) is an organization comprised of the presidents of all RSOs in the COB. SLAB’s purpose is to share the student perspective with the Dean of the COB. They attend monthly meetings with the dean or other college leaders about issues within the COB that concern current and prospective students.

Daniel Garcia | President
Daniel Garcia is a Senior Business Administration student from Elmhurst, IL
At Illinois State University, Daniel is involved in an on campus Professional Business Fraternity, Pi Sigma Epsilon. He is also involved in the Illinois State Men’s Rugby Club where he serves as the Philanthropy chair. Within this role he helps locally with community service and active collaboration with fundraising and sponsorships from local organizations on campus.
Outside of Illinois State, Daniel has served as a Sales Project Manager at SealMaster, where he managed sales and put on project demonstrations while analyzing supply chain within the manufacturer to optimize sales and production efficiency.
As President for the Student Leadership Advisory Board, Daniel leads all College of Business organizations through their recruitment, promotions, and marketing efforts; simultaneously connecting the Student Organizations with the College of Business itself. Daniel is very eager into representing the students in one unified voice for all.

Ethan Gockel | Vice President
Ethan is a senior accounting student at Illinois State University and currently serves as Vice President of the Student Leadership Advisory Board. Throughout his time at ISU, he has been actively involved in leadership roles across the College of Business. Within Delta Sigma Pi, Ethan has served as Inter-Business Fraternity Council Chair and Vice President of Alumni Relations. He has also contributed to Business Week as a Transition Seminar Coordinator and currently serves as a Mentor Program Coordinator.
Beyond campus leadership, Ethan has gained professional experience through internships in both accounting and business operations. He was an Audit Intern with Lauterbach and Amen, a Business Operations Intern with A-Z Industries, and will join EY next summer as a Tax Intern.
Ethan is passionate about creating a positive impact within the College of Business. He aims to foster collaboration among student organizations, support professional development opportunities, and ensure students feel empowered to succeed both academically and professionally.

Ani Abbina | Director of Event Planning
Ani Abbina is a sophomore Marketing major from Normal, Illinois.
At Illinois State University, Ani is actively involved on campus through the professional business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi, where he currently serves as Vice President of Public Relations. In this role, he builds relationships with campus organizations, documents and photographs fraternity events, and oversees both the Service and DEI chairs. Prior to this, Ani held the position of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Chair.
Outside of the College of Business, Ani gained professional experience as a Marketing and Communications Intern with Chestnut Health Systems. During his internship, he worked on building and optimizing webpages with a focus on SEO.
As Director of Event Planning for the Student Leadership Advisory Board, Ani is committed to organizing impactful events that strengthen student involvement and foster collaboration among registered student organizations and the College of Business. He looks forward to continuing to support his peers and encourages all students to get involved.

Tyler Miller | Director of the Inter-Business Fraternity Council
Tyler Miller is a sophomore Management major from Antioch, Illinois
Within the College of Business, Tyler has served as the social media director for the professional business fraternity, Pi Sigma Epsilon. Additionally, he has served as a mentor on multiple occasions, twice within Pi Sigma Epsilon, and once in the upcoming Business Week.
Beyond his involvement within the College of Business, Tyler has invested his time as a news and features reporter for The Vidette. He also casually competes through the Pickleball Club.
Tyler is enthusiastic about his role inside the College of Business leading the Inter-Business Fraternity Council during the 2025-26 academic year. His aspirations include improving the inter connectivity within the growing community of professional business fraternity members. As SLAB’s Director of IBFC, Tyler aims to continue building relationships between IBFC RSOs and beyond.

Steel Martin | Executive Secretary
Steel Martin is a Junior Accounting Major from Morton, Illinois.
At Illinois State University, Steel is actively involved on campus through the professional business fraternity, Pi Sigma Epsilon, where he serves as Vice President of Finance. In this role, he builds on the internal aspects of PSE, ensuring the chapter's finances are correct and that chapter operations run smoothly. Through this position, he got the opportunity to put on marketing and fundraising events such as Reggie Games and Pie-A-Bro, to bring the campus together and raise money for charities and non-profits.
Outside the College of Business, he has had the opportunity to intern at Caterpillar as a Corporate Accounting Intern within the LPSD Division. During this time, he got the opportunity to build upon his accounting work and improve accounting processes for the company.
As secretary within the Student Leadership Advisory Board, Steel is committed to bringing a new perspective to the organization and making sure all internal processes run as smoothly as possible. He looks forward to getting to support his peers through this organization and encourages new students to try something new and get involved!
