Student Leadership Advisory Board

The Student Leaders Advisory Board (SLAB) is an organization comprised of the presidents of all RSOs in the COB. SLAB’s purpose is to share the student perspective with the Dean of the COB. They attend monthly meetings with the dean or other college leaders about issues within the COB that concern current and prospective students.

    Tyler Miller | President

    Tyler Miller is a junior Finance major from Antioch, Illinois, at Illinois State University. He is highly involved on campus, serving as the Mentor-Mentee Program Coordinator for the Business Week Team, where he helps develop and guide student connections and professional growth opportunities. He also contributes to the broader campus community as an Honors Program Peer Mentor, supporting fellow students in their academic development, and as the Vice President of Finance for the Biological Sciences Student Association, where he manages financial planning and budgeting efforts. Additionally, Tyler is a member of the College of Business Social Media Team, helping promote initiatives and enhance student engagement, and is a member of Pi Sigma Epsilon, a professional business fraternity in which he continues to build his leadership and professional skills.

    Beyond campus, Tyler has gained valuable professional experience as a Finance Intern with Synergy Flavors in Wauconda, Illinois. In this role, he supported financial operations and analysis, gaining hands-on experience that strengthens his understanding of financial strategy and decision-making. Through his leadership and involvement, Tyler is passionate about fostering a connected and engaged College of Business community while preparing for a future career in finance.

  • Portrait of Gwen Bojan

    Gwen Bojan| Vice President

    Gwen Bojan is a senior Honors International Business major from Chicago, Illinois, at Illinois State University. She has been actively involved in the College of Business and throughout campus. Gwen currently serves as the President of Women in Business, a part of the Inspire Team in Business Week, a Study Abroad Ambassador, and an Honors Peer Mentor. She has also held other Executive Board positions in both Women in Business and the International Business Association.

    Beyond campus leadership, Gwen has gained professional experience through her internship at Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL). At JLL, she gained hands-on experience in the world of global business and real estate. Gwen is passionate about creating a positive impact within the College of Business. She aims to foster collaboration among student organizations, support professional development opportunities, and ensure students feel empowered to succeed both academically and professionally.

  • Portrait of Abby Vandiver

    Abby Vandiver | Director of Event Planning

    Abby Vandiver is a senior Human Resource Management major from Downs, Illinois, at Illinois State University (ISU). Throughout her time at ISU, she has been actively involved in organizations across the College of Business, such as Business Week, Women in Business, and Delta Sigma Pi. Within Business Week, Abby currently serves as the Vice President of Logistics for the 2026–2027 team and has also served as a Mentor Program Coordinator and Inspire Coordinator. In Women in Business, she has served as President, Vice President of Development, and Director of Service.

    Beyond campus involvement, Abby has gained professional experience through internships and on-campus work. This past summer, she was a Property and Casualty Claims Intern at State Farm, and she works as a Front Desk Assistant in the College of Business (COB) Advising Center during the school year. As Director of Event Planning for the Student Leadership Advisory Board (SLAB), Abby is committed to organizing and enhancing events that strengthen student engagement and foster collaboration among registered student organizations within the College of Business. She is excited to contribute in this role and give back to the college that has provided her with so many opportunities.

    Emma Jenkins | Director of the Inter-Business Fraternity Council

    Emma Jenkins is a sophomore Risk Management & Insurance major from Naperville, Illinois, at Illinois State University. Within the College of Business, Emma is actively involved in both Gamma Iota Sigma and Phi Gamma Nu. Through Phi Gamma Nu, she has served on the 2026 executive board as the Vice President of Internal Affairs, an experience that has greatly contributed to her professional development. These leadership opportunities have strengthened her organizational, communication, and teamwork skills, which she plans to carry into her leadership role.

    Emma is enthusiastic about serving as the Inter-Business Fraternity Council (IBFC) Director for the Student Leadership Advisory Board (SLAB) during the 2026–2027 academic year. In this role, she is committed to strengthening connections and building a greater sense of unity among all business fraternities. Her goal is to create a more collaborative and supportive environment that encourages networking, professional development, and lasting relationships across organizations.

    Kailey Johnson | Executive Secretary

    Kailey Johnson is a senior Marketing major with sequences in Integrated Marketing Communications and Analytics at Illinois State University (ISU). She currently serves as the Secretary of the Student Leadership Advisory Board (SLAB). Throughout her time at ISU, she has been actively involved in leadership roles across the College of Business. Within Business Week, she has served as the Vice President of Marketing, and in Women in Business, she has held the roles of Vice President of Administration and Director of Membership, alongside being an active member of Delta Sigma Pi.

    Beyond campus leadership, Kailey has gained professional experience through internships in Technical Marketing at Caterpillar and Digital Merchandising at Bass Pro Shops Corporate Headquarters. Kailey is dedicated to enhancing the student experience within the College of Business by building strong relationships across organizations, promoting opportunities for personal and professional growth, and creating an environment where students are equipped to achieve their goals and reach their full potential.
