Student Leadership Advisory Board
The Student Leaders Advisory Board (SLAB) is an organization comprised of the presidents of all RSOs in the COB. SLAB’s purpose is to share the student perspective with the Dean of the COB. They attend monthly meetings with the dean or other college leaders about issues within the COB that concern current and prospective students.

Benji Prendergast is a senior majoring in Marketing with a sequence in Integrated Marketing Communications and Professional Sales. Benji began his education at Illinois State University in Fall 2019 and has enjoyed participating in various College of Business RSOs since his first semester on campus. Benji has left a significant impact through the College of Business with his involvement as Vice President of Professional Development and Vice President of Marketing for Business Week. He has also impacted the professional business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi, through various roles such as Vice President of Marketing, Inter Business Fraternity Council chairperson, and mentor since being a freshman at Illinois State. He’s also contributed to the success of the Sports Business Society through developing branding and marketing strategies through his Vice President of Marketing role. On top of his involvement within the College of Business, he also is a student ambassador for Adobe for Illinois State University. He is ranked top 10 in the nation across the ambassadorship program.
Outside of RSO involvement, Benji currently holds the position as a Social Media Intern for the College of Business, where he gets to engage with faculty, students, staff, alums, and RSOs to promote the College of Business to the highest of standards. Benji’s most recent internship has been as a Service Sales Intern with Dell Technologies, where he learned the various ins and outs of Dell while competing against his peers in multiple pieces of training and challenges throughout the internship. Before Dell Technologies, Benji interned with Burgess Norton Manufacturing as a Marketing Intern. He developed skills in forecasting, branding, and in-depth analysis of numerous plants from Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Mexico, and Italy.
Benji is thrilled to lead the College of Business for the 2022 – 2023 academic year. He is proud to be representing the college of business with an opportunity to give back during the duration of his last year on campus. As SLAB President, Benji aspires and challenges the College of Business to continue being involved on campus through great organizations and take advantage of the College of Business resources to develop their collegiate and professional careers. He’s excited to move forward with the SLAB movement throughout the College of Business. He wants to guide SLAB to the highest standards.

Lauren Herrig is a senior double majoring in Marketing and Management with a sequence in Professional Sales and Small Business Entrepreneurship while also pursuing an Organizational Leadership minor. Lauren will graduate from Illinois State University in May of 2023. Lauren’s College of Business involvement includes serving as a Professional Sales Institute Ambassador for the College of Business, a member of the American Marketing Association (AMA), and contributing to the executive team on the Student Leadership Advisory Board. She previously served as the Student Leadership Advisory Board’s Secretary and the Vice President of Communications for AMA. She was a PSI Sales Scholar for the 2021-2022 academic year. She was also inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. This prestigious society accepts only 10% of ISU College of Business graduates.
Lauren’s other campus involvement includes being a part of the University Scholar’s Association, and she is an active member of the University’s Honors Program. She is a member of the philanthropy group Big Brothers Big Sisters ISU. She continues to volunteer at the Midwest Foodbank in the Bloomington-Normal community. In the summer of 2022, she received a sales internship with Adobe. During the academic year, she is a sales intern with the non-profit blood donation center: ImpactLife. She plans to pursue a sales career upon graduation.
Lauren is extremely excited to be the Vice President of SLAB for the 2022-2023 academic year. She hopes to promote a positive environment for the college of business students, registered student organizations, and faculty. She is committed to promoting further collaboration between these groups and increasing student involvement.

Henry Campbell is a senior general economics major. Henry began his education at Illinois State University in the Fall of 2021 after transferring from Rock Valley College with an associate of arts in psychology. Henry has enjoyed being a part of the professional business fraternity Alpha Kappa Psi since his first semester on campus.
Outside the College of Business, Henry interned as an Administrative Operations Assistant at a funeral home, where he developed many professional skills. He has also interned at a healthcare facility in a Human Resources role where he managed employee onboarding and oversaw communications for the staff.
Henry is excited to serve as the new Activity Coordinator for the Student Leadership Advisory Board and gain enriching experience within the College of Business. He is looking forward to using this opportunity to strengthen connections amongst RSOs and increase student engagement.

Director of the Inter Business Fraternity Council
Max Marcionetti is a junior majoring in Marketing with a sequence in Professional Sales. Max started at Illinois State University in Fall 2020 and has enjoyed being a part of the College of Business RSOs since his first semester on campus. He joined the professional business fraternity Phi Gamma Nu during his first semester. Max has held the position of Vice President of Marketing. He also joined the College of Business Social Media Team and is still on the team. Outside of the College of Business, Max has been a part of the Men’s Ultimate Frisbee Club on campus, where he held the Graphics Chair position where he was able to help the club improve its social media presence and create the practice jerseys and game uniforms.
Max’s most recent internship has been as a CMS Account Manager with the company Card Concepts Inc. where he helped manage many social media pages and websites for laundromats around the country. He flew to Atlanta, Georgia, and participated at the Clean Show; he worked on the tradeshow floor and sold Card Concepts Inc. products to new or existing customers. Before Card Concepts Inc., he worked at Spynr Inc. as a marketing intern managing social media accounts and digital ads for small laundromats across the country.
Max is very excited to lead the College of Business for the 2022 – 2023 academic year and is grateful for the opportunity to give back to the College of Business, as it has given him so much. As Director of IBFC, Max hopes to bring the business fraternities together more and work on their relationships with one another, as well as promote the benefits of business fraternities to the student body.
