Related Skills
Through our curriculum you will acquire techniques that improve marketing decisions. It aims to optimize marketing tactics, budget allocation, return on investment (ROI), and revenue prediction. We also partner with SAS to provide our studnets with the SAS Joint Academic Program Certificate. Other tools we teach include R, Tableau, IBM SPSS Statistics, as well as digital marketing tools such as Google Analytics and SEO and SEM programs to optimize marketing investments and efforts to reach and covert the right target audience.
Being Successful in the Field
As a marketing major, it is strongly recommended that you take MKT 190 (introduction to Marketing) in your sophomore year and declare the AMA sequence before Junior Year to maximize various opportunities to develop your skills, and look for related internships, RSO's, and case competitions and network with like-minded peers and mentors.
Related Fields
With analytics skills there is a wide range of industries for which you cna make a difference. Customer intelligence, digital marketing and marketing/business analyst roles, as well as other business fields such as human resources, communications and PR, healthcare, financial services, and even sports. Skills you develop through our curriculum will have a universal appeal to any fields that seek data visualization, analysis, and predictive analytics.
Graduate School
Students have the option to continue their education, such as the Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in business fields, as well as PhD programs in business.
