Hall of Fame Investors 2024
Hall of Fame Investors '24
Many industries claim that their employees are a major asset and attracting talent is a key strategic goal. But without action these words can ring hollow. For the Katie School 2025 Katie School Hall of Fame the industry stepped up once again to demonstrate that they believe in the next generation of risk management and insurance professionals. They are willing to make an investment in students, even the ones they have never met, and may never hire, because they believe in critical role of managing society’s growing risks, and the in importance of having the most talented people to manage these risks for the efficient functioning of society. This is why we call them talent ‘investors.” These funds are an investment in the future of the industry.
The Hall of Fame Funds go to attract and develop talented students for careers in risk management and insurance. The funds received from this event will provide scholarships and programming activities to help attract top talent and provide the Katie School with resources to continue to develop students at the velocity of change. Since its inception in 1991, the Katie School has helped support more than 3,400 students who graduated from Illinois State University and entered the insurance industry. Each year the Katie School provides support for more than 300 risk management and insurance (RMI) students, undergraduate and graduate actuarial students, as well as other students interested in insurance careers. The Katie School also reaches out to high school students and provides them with innovative risk and insurance experiences to help them better understand the industry. The Katie School creates and funds unique learning opportunities for a broad array of students. Please follow this link to a list and description of many of the programs and activities that this fund supports.
This year our Laureate is Tim Turner, CEO of Ryan Specialty and Chairman of RT Specialty. A Tim Turner Impact fund. Donors could contribute to this fund as well. A link to the scholarships offered to students from traditionally underrepresented groups can be found here. The Timothy Turner RT Specialty Endowed Impact Fund for Risk Management and Insurance was established by Timothy Turner with RT Specialty to promote the diversification of the risk management and insurance industry. The impact fund will support engagement in risk management and insurance by talented high school students.
